What is my purpose in this vast universe?

Well, I have been asking that myself a lot! A lot of times I witnessed people finding their own thing that they are good at. Before I took the route of design, I bounced around professions and none of these felt home. By chance I took the opportunity to go to design school and tried out many subjects. This was already the first step that made me realize that I don't dwell in problems for too long, but rather looking for solutions that could help me getting better and uplifting others.

It took me to the fourth semester to come in contact with digital illustration, photography and finally developing a feeling for finding what I am good at. I also found my dedication to landscapes and environments at that time, picking up techniques and ways to portray them in different kinds of characters.

Why do I write all of this? Who knows. Sometimes it is better to just write down your immediate thoughts about why you do your craft and why you want to solve the client's needs and problems.

Four years after I started being self-employed as a designer and digital illustrator, going through different kinds of commissions, from photo editing to concept art for indie studios, I was introduced to Book Cover Design. After bouncing around within the design space, again, I now found something I really felt home with.

Doing Cover Design for authors of all kinds, as well as landscape and environment illustrations and artworks for books and magazines is my way of doing my part for society. Even if it is not much for some people and even I sometimes think that way, it can mean the whole universe for a small independent author who just starts out into the publishing sea.

See, I always thought that fun and purpose go hand in hand. To this day I still think like that. It is, when you find that light within yourself, that wants to spread to other people.
